Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer who hails from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label released her first album titled Pho in the month of October of 2016 when she began to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox released her music to the internet in 2012, when she dropped her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued to post her songs online, as well as her own single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team in the following year as he wanted Rihanna to work alongside her on some of the songs. The news was released on December 8 that she was signed to Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing on her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening performance. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16. A music video followed then followed by a short video in September. Then, in November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two additional singles were also released on the 11th of November with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured along with Cole in the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February the video music for the song was released. The song has received over three million YouTube views in just a single week. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of the year 2018.
